Fit & size guide

One fit, drafted for us

Monday makes one relaxed fit per pattern. There is no size selector, and that is deliberate — not a shortcut.

Most shirts sold in Dhaka are cut on a Western block: wider in the shoulder, lower in the armhole, longer in the sleeve, and graded for a different ratio of shoulder to bust to waist. They are then sold here in a smaller number. A smaller version of the wrong shape is still the wrong shape.

Our block starts from the measurements of women here. The shoulder is narrower, the armhole sits higher so the sleeve does not drag, and the body is cut generously enough that it works across a real range of bodies rather than one idealised one.

Who it fits

Relaxed fit · cut for Bangladeshi women · fits UK 8–14 (bust 34–40 in).

If you are at the top of that range, it will read as a neat relaxed shirt. At the bottom, it reads oversized — which is how a lot of women wear it on purpose.

Garment vs body measurements

This is the thing that confuses everyone, so plainly:

  • Body measurements are of you. Around the fullest part of the bust, around the waist.
  • Garment measurements are of the shirt, laid flat on a table and measured across, then doubled where noted.

Every product page lists the garment measurements, in inches. We publish them because a number you can check against a shirt you already own is worth more than a size letter.

How to measure a shirt you already own

Find the shirt in your wardrobe that fits you the way you want this one to fit. Lay it flat, buttoned, on a table. Smooth it out — don't stretch it.

  1. Chest — measure straight across, from one armhole seam to the other, about an inch below the armhole. Compare that number to ours. (Ours is the flat measurement too, so compare like with like.)
  2. Length — from the highest point of the shoulder, next to the collar, straight down to the hem at the back.
  3. Shoulder — across the back, from the point where one shoulder seam meets the sleeve to the same point on the other side.
  4. Sleeve — from the shoulder seam down the outside of the arm to the end of the cuff.

If our chest number is within an inch or two of your favourite shirt, it will fit you the way that shirt does.

Everything is in inches

We do not offer a centimetre toggle. Tailors in Dhaka work in inches, the shirts you already own were measured in inches, and one unit means one fewer thing to get wrong.

On the model

Each product page tells you the model's height and which colourway she is wearing, so you have a reference body rather than an abstract number.

Still not sure?

Message us on WhatsApp with the flat chest measurement of a shirt you love, and we will tell you honestly whether ours will fit the same way. We would rather talk you out of a shirt than process an exchange.
